Mr Ibu responds after being called out alongside colleagues for reportedly promoting Tinubu for the president in 2023.

Actor John Okafor, a.k.a. Mr Ibu, has reacted after the masses dragged him and other Nollywood stars, including Foluke Daramola, Harry B, and others, for reportedly endorsing Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the president in 2023.

In a viral video, Nollywood celebs can be heard singing Tinubu’s praises at a conference table.

After the video was posted, a number of Nigerians chastised them, prompting Mr Ibu to explain himself.

He stated that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar had done so much for him, including supplying him with a home to live in. He stated that based on that, Atiku is his choice, and he will not forsake Atiku to back someone else.

He also claimed that the governor of Enugu state flew him abroad for treatment while he was sick.

He stated that Atiku and the governor of Enugu State are like father figures to him and that he cannot disappoint them by campaigning for Tinubu.

He didn’t say why he was chanting Tinubu’s praises in the video that prompted the call.
