Out-of-job According to Vanguard, Antonio Conte is expected to take over as coach of Tottenham Hotspur after Nuno Espirito Santo was fired on Monday.
Conte is also alleged to have expressed interest in taking over as manager of Manchester United, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job on the line.
Tottenham severed ways with Espirito following a five-win, five-loss start to the season, which left them in eighth place on the table. Spurs were in first place with 21 points after the same number of games the previous season.
Spurs have apparently already given the Italian an 18-month contract.
Following Nuno’s dismissal, Tottenaham’s managing director, Fabio Paratici, remarked,
“I understand Nuno and his coaching team were desperate to win, and I regret that we had to make this decision.”
“Nuno is a gentleman who will always be welcomed here.” We’d want to express our gratitude to him and his coaching staff, as well as our best wishes for the future.”
In his debut season in England, Conte led Chelsea to the Premier League title.
