On Friday, November 19, 2021, a Nigerian teacher identified as Mr. Ahmed Saheed, a school teacher at Army Children High School, Epe, Lagos, was allegedly shot dead by one of his students.
Saheed, who was in his 40s, was shot and killed in his shop in Epe’s Poka neighborhood, where he sold home appliances.
Saheed, also known as World Morgan among friends, was at the shop when the yet-to-be identified student and another arrived on a motorcycle and shot him dead, according to an Epe instructor who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
His parents, wife, and two children all survived him.
The suspects, however, have been apprehended, according to the source.
Razak Bakare, a student at Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Epe, was shot dead on campus two days before Saheed’s death.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Abiodun Tobun, a legislator representing Epe Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, said he would “take sufficient measures to prevent a repeat of such an incidence.”
Tobun urged local students to focus on their education and avoid cultism.
In Epe, the congressman also pledged to work with the traditional ruler and other key stakeholders to combat cultism, hooliganism, hoodlums, and other societal vices.
