Tekno – “Jogodo” [Download Mp3]

This song piqued people’s interest in the fact that our beloved Tekno was returning to generating music smashes. “Jogodo” was inspired by the early 2000 smash tune “Polongo” by experienced Nigerian singers “Danfo Drivers (Mad Melon & Mountain Black).

The song sparked a backlash, with the seasoned Danfo Drivers accusing Tekno of stealing their music without giving them credit and threatening him to make amends before they pursued legal action. Tekno and the Danfo Drivers were seen together at the former’s home in Lekki just a few days later, putting the matter to rest.

Outside of the controversy, “Jogodo” was a major hit, with radio stations playing it constantly and music enthusiasts streaming it. It has a YouTube video that was released on the 10th of May, 2018. Clarence Peters shot and directed the video, which has now received over 26 million views.
